Who said you have to download the IM software to be able to chat with your friends?   Whether it is Skype, MSN, Yahoo, AIM, Google Talk, MySpace or AOL, you no longer need to download any software on your computer. You can just use web Instant Messengers, which are so easy and user-friendly…absolutely the best solution for IM addicts!

There are many websites which offer free IM – all you have to do is navigate to the site and log into your MSN, Yahoo or GTalk account. The most popular Web IMs are meebo, ILoveIM, IMO and Yahoo’s WebMessenger. For your mobiles, the best IM solutions available are Mig33 and Nimbuzz.

Have a look at these screen shots for meebo, Yahoo WebMessenger and ILoveIM. I reckon they all have a good GUI and are really easy to use.

Have you tried any other web IM’s? Are they any good? Let me know what you think of these ones too…hope this post was helpful, especially to those who have limitations of downloading software!!

Millions of people around the web, each of them searching for millions of things – just imagine how one person out of the entire crowd is able to get what he/she wants in less than a second! But lets not get into the technicalities of all that – how exactly it works with all the mechanism, code, servers and the intelligence it uses can be put behind the bars for now. Let’s just talk about the front-end: the page that gives u a simple textbox and a small search button that triggers off ‘God-knows-how-much-goo-that-happens-behind-the-scenes’!!!!

All search engines are good in their own ways, each of them have pros and cons…and the major factors that determine which search engine makes it to the top of your list include:

  • relevant search results
  • speed
  • ease of use
  • lack of things that waste time – mainly ads!
Google

The top of my list has always been, is and will forever be, the one and only Google! From experience, there’s just nothing like Google’s search engine. No matter what I search for, even before the page with the results loads, I know for a fact that that the first 3 hits are exactly what I’m looking for! Its simply amazing!

Yahoo!

Next on the list is Yahoo! This one produces different search results compared with Google, and it is also a strong search engine. The results will all be relevant to your search keywords. It’s nice to use it at times to see the difference between the two.

MSN is also on the top of the “best-search-engines” list. I have personally not used it a lot but I’ve read several good reviews about it. Other names that make it into this list are AOL and Excite, which are fairly good. If you know of any other and/or would like to comment about something, please feel free to do so!
